Haiti Relief Effort

The Consulate General of Antigua and Barbuda in New York joins with its CARICOM counterparts and offers its profound condolences to
the Government and people of Haiti in wake of the recent devastating earthquake which has caused one of the greatest humanitarian
emergencies in our region.

We know at this time many of you will wish to offer your support to the ongoing international emergency response in aid of the Haitian
people. Consequently, the Consulate has prepared a list of donor and relief agencies through which you can channel your support.

ABCS Chorale

Choir director, Mr. James Scott Berry is seeking to build the ABCS chorale to 100 voices. Rehearsals are held weekly @ 5pm at United Moravian Church, 200 East 127th Street.

Christmas Barrel Initiative

November, 2010 to December, 2010

The Christmas Barrel season will commence in November, 2010 and end in December, 2010. Barrels must be landed between December 1 and 31, 2010. This initiative allows low-income households in Antigua and Barbuda to import a standard-size shipping barrel of selected goods free of all duties and taxes.

The list of goods to be allowed in the Christmas Barrel are food, clothing and toiletries.

CTO Caribbean Week

June 6 - 11, 2010

The CTO will be holding its Caribbean Week from June 6 - 11, 2010. During this week there will be a Diaspora Forum, where the Caribbean Tourism Ministers and/or representatives will be expected to have a panel discussion and Q&A session. They are hoping to have members of the media and a cross section of nationals represented here in the USA.

Dollar Barrel

November 15, 2009 to January 15, 2010

The Dollar Barrel season will commence November 15, 2009 and ends on January 15, 2010. This initiative allows each household in Antigua and Barbuda to import a standard-size shipping barrel of selected goods free of all duties and taxes but for one dollar.

The list of goods to be allowed in the Dollar Barrel are foodstuffs, clothing, not exceeding seven pieces of the same type, toilet paper, toothpaste, deodorant, soap and shampoo.
